1.1 Work Included
A. The toilet partitions shall be HDPE Panels with floor anchored/overhead braced mounting style as manufactured by ArmorShield Partitions.
Part 2 – Product
2.1 Doors, Panels and Urinal Screens – Shall have a finished thickness of 7/8” with HDPE applied to 5/8” thick MDF.
2.2 Pilasters – Shall have a finished thickness of 1 ¼” with HDPE applied to 1” thick premium plywood
2.3 Material – ArmorShield’s thermoplastic extruded sheets shall be applied to the core material with a non-toxic, water resistant adhesive under high pressure. All components shall be edge banded post- face lamination to ensure moisture resistance and vandal resistance.
2.4 Finish – All components shall have faces covered with 1/8” HDPE and edges covered with 3mm PVC
2.5 Color – Will be selected from ArmorShield’s range of standard colors.
2.6 Door Hardware – Shall be ArmorShield gravity return style hinge that permits door to return to a pre-set position when not locked. Hinge, strike, and keeper shall be chrome plated Zamac or Stainless Steel to resist corrosion and thoroughly bolted with tamper resistant barrel nuts and shoulder screws to ensure strength and security.
2.7 Mounting Hardware – Chrome plated Zamac or Stainless-Steel stirrup brackets shall be secured to walls and pilasters with stainless steel tamper resistant fasteners. Panels shall be thoroughly bolted with tamper resistant barrel nuts and shoulder screws.
2.8 Construction Design – Partitions shall be anchored to the floor by a 1-piece, 2.5” high, stainless steel anchor trim with bottom plate that has been driven into the floor. The pilaster is leveled with a machine screw that’s threaded into an insert at the bottom of the pilaster and is fastened to anchor trim with tamper resistant stainless fasteners. The supplied stainless-steel shoe should then be fitted over the floor anchor bracket for a seamless appearance. Aluminum headrail with anti-grip profile shall provide overhead bracing and span all partitions and brace the end pilaster to the back wall.
Part 3 – Execution
3.1 Installation – Partitions to be installed in accordance to the supplied ArmorShield installation instructions with compartments rigid, straight and plumb. Doors and panels must be mounted 12” above the finished floor.
3.2 Warranty – ArmorShield Partitions guarantees its HDPE partitions, properly maintained, against discoloration or delamination for 3 years from the date of receipt by the customer. If material is found defective during that period, the material shall be replaced free of charge. No credits or allowances shall be issued for any labor or expenses relating to the replacement of components covered under the warranty plan.
SPECIFICATIONS: ArmorShield Partitions are manufactured with state-of-the-art laminating/edge banding equipment and adhesives.
COMPOSITION: High Density Polyethylene, reclaimed polymer materials, mineral reinforcements and color pigment.
FINISHED PANEL QUALITY:
1. The front side shall be embossed with a pebble type finish (embossed finished) colors shall be throughout the panel and manufactured as specified.
2. Quality Control Procedures/Standards which are available upon request.
3. Dimensions shall be specified on purchased order
4. Partitions shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines
CERTIFICATION: Meets the minimum requirements of the major model building codes for Class C interior wall finishes. Flame spread of less than 200, smoke development less than 450 per ASTM E-84.
PRECONDITIONING: Prior to installing ArmorShield Partitions, remove the packaging materials and allow the panels to acclimate to room temperature and humidity for at least 48 hours. Ideally, the room temperature and humidity during acclimation and installation should be the same as the final operation conditions.
PRODUCT LIMITATIONS: ArmorShield is designed as a Restroom Partition. It should never be exposed to extremely high or extremely low moisture conditions. ArmorShield Partitions should be installed between 60°F (16°C) to 75°F (24°C) and 35% to 55% relative humidity. Non-compliance with product limitations may affect future performance and voids warranty.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: ArmorShield is easy to clean. In most cases, use a clean, damp, nonabrasive cotton cloth and a mild liquid detergent or household cleaner. Always rinse with clean water and a clean, non-abrasive cotton cloth. Dry the panels with a soft, clean, non-abrasive cotton cloth.
DO NOT USE abrasive cleaners with bleach, cleaners with acid, alkali or sodium hypochlorite. They will damage and permanently discolor the surface. Be sure that bottles, rags or other materials with these cleaners should never meet the surface.
Examples of harsh cleaners to avoid, include but are not limited to:
- Bleach
- Drain Cleaners
- Metal Cleaners
- Oven Cleaners
- Rust Removers
- Tub and Tile Cleaners
- Lime Scale Remover
STAIN REMOVAL: To remove stains, use full strength Fantastik, All Purpose Cleaner, Formula 409, Pine-Sol, or other mild household cleaners. Dab with a clean, damp, non-abrasive cotton cloth, and rinse with clean water. Cleaners may change formulation and can be harmful to the surface, make sure to do a test area. ArmorShield Partitions cannot be held responsible for these changes. Follow all directions and warnings on the cleaner label because many are extremely flammable. Dyes and pharmaceutical products will permanently stain the panels. These include but are not limited to; hair dyes and rinses, silver nitrate, laundry bluing, tannic acid, povidone-iodine, dermatological tar compounds, and peroxide. To reduce these stains, apply a paste of baking soda and water on the area to pull out the stain. Do not rub, as the paste will be slightly abrasive. Wipe up the paste with a clean, damp, nonabrasive cotton cloth, and rinse with clean water.
Permanent stains that may not disappear include wood stains, cash register inks, newsprint, marking pen inks, indelible ink, food pricing ink, and label inks.
Stubborn stains that may disappear on their own after a short time or after repeated cleaning include food stains, glass rings, water marks, coffee and tea stains.
